Sleeves, not straps
Sleeves cost more to cut and sew than a flat blanket panel.
They're also what keeps a coat square on a dog that's actually moving.
160g fill, not 100 or 200
100g is a windbreaker. 200g is too much for a dog that's walking, not sitting still. 160g is the middle, and it's the weight we'd want on our own dog.
A collar that actually closes
A drawcord pulls the standing collar snug, so wind doesn't run down the neck. The reflective band sits there too, at the height a driver's headlights hit first.

We sold dog gear before this one
Royaltails isn't our first go at this. We sold dog gear in Europe before, and we spent a winter watching a coat slide sideways on every single walk. Two replacements did the same thing.
So we made the one we couldn't buy. Sleeves instead of straps, and enough insulation to matter. One coat, and we'd rather get one right than six half right.
